OVERVIEW

Chemically bonded timber protection

Micon Pacsayf is an aqueous fire retardant chemical solution for the protection of timber. The chemicals in this product react chemically with the wood, preventing leaching, to form esters, resulting in a new timber /chemical compound.

Pacsayf is used extensively to protect timber used as underground supports in the gold and platinum mining sectors.

OVERVIEW

Immersion treatment and mining-grade compliance

Timber is treated by submerging packs and props in the Pacsayf solution for a 30 minute period, seeking uptakes and retentions of between 35-80L per ton of timber.
Micon Pacsayf meets the stringent specifications for underground health and safety requirements with respect to corrosion, skin sensitivity, effects on gold extraction, effects on water pollution, timber ignition, leaching, timber strength, and a minimum 50% reduction in heat contribution.
